A successful businesswoman and philanthropist, her 50th birthday today is a dream come true. With many reasons to thank God for, the proud mum of children takes the Owambevibes team down memory lane on her 50-year-old life’s sojourn…

Owambevibes: Happy birthday ma, how do you feel at 50?
Alihamdullilah. I thank God for His mercies. Ironically, I feel 20 not 50! To think that I have looked forward to this my 50th birthday since I was 25 years. Infect, I have been planning my 50th since I was 25 years old. So, I still feel young and just like a 25-year-old.
Owambevibes: How would you describe your journey in the last 50 years?
I am a child of Grace and God has seen me through all life’s circumstances.

Owambevibes: How was growing up like?
I grew up in Abeokuta. My late dad is from Igbehin which is located in Abeokuta, Ogun State. My mum is from Ijaye Kokode. I attended Baptist Primary School, Idi Aba, and I had my secondary education at the Abeokuta Grammar School. I earned a degree in Dramatic Arts at the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife. As a matter of fact, that was the first time I left Abeokuta.

Owambevibes: What does friendship mean to you?
I cherish friendship and it means a lot to me. I have friends from my secondary school and we are very close. In fact, I have my friends from United States, United Kingdom and other countries attending my birthday party.
In our family, we love our friends and there are some of my sisters’ friends that we all look alike. My old friends are still with me and we are waxing strong.

Owambevibes: You are an item with your husband, Otunba Kazeem Odeyeyiwa, how would you describe him?
I’d describe my husband as someone who makes me laugh and feel at ease, who understands and supports my quirks and passions. He’s my best friend, someone I can rely on in tough times and celebrate with in good times. We share a deep connection, built on trust, love, and mutual respect. He is a loving and devoted partner who brings joy and laughter into our home. He is a wonderful father, deeply committed to our children, always making time for them and being actively involved in their lives. His patience, wisdom, and playful spirit makes him a role model and a best friend to our kids.

Owambevibes: What is your birthday wish?
I pray (not wishing) that all my kids succeed more and more, Then, I always pray (I’m praying again) that as parents, we will never know a better yesterday.
